BETHLEHEM---
Vicki Davis (New Ringgold/Schuylkill Haven) finished seventh overall to lead the Bloomsburg University women's cross country team to a 14th place finish at the Paul Short Invitational at Lehigh University on Friday.
Davis, a sophomore, ran the 6k-course in 22:00 minutes, just 20 seconds off the winning time.
Kaitlyn McShay (Springfield/Cardinal O'Hara) was second for the Huskies and 57th overall in 23:21 with
Samantha Matthews (Windsor/Glenelg) third for BU in 23:49, good for 88th in the field of 386 runners.
Caitlin Heller (Bloomsburg/Indian Valley) was 115th in 24:04, followed by
Lauren Lehman (Mt. Holly Springs/Boiling Springs) in 24:11 and 130th overall with
Kelsey Harm (Boothwyn/Cardinal O'Hara) 145th in 24:16 and
Lauren Bond (Hatfield/North Penn) 146th in 24:16.
Bloomsburg narrowly lost to PSAC foes Lock Haven, which finished eighth, and Mansfield, which took 13th place in the field of 44. The Huskies did knock off IUP, which had beaten Bloomsburg two weeks ago.
Bloomsburg will compete at the Jack St. Clair Classic next week at historic Belmont Plateau in Philadelphia.
