Box Score BOX SCORE

ERIE—Dana Wieller (Bethlehem/Liberty) of the Bloomsburg University women's basketball team (10-3, 4-3 PSAC) set a Bloomsburg career record for three pointers made in a 63-53 loss to Gannon University (10-1, 7-0 PSAC).  Bloomsburg's loss to the Golden Knights ends a five game win streak for the Huskies.

Wieller drained four three pointers in tonight's game, putting her in a first place tie on BU's all-time list for career three pointers made (207).  Michelle Albanese, who played from 2001-05, is currently sharing first place with Wieller.

Gannon opened the first 5:17 of play by taking a 9-4 lead but Kelsey Gallagher (East Stroudsburg/East Stroudsburg South) guided the Huskies on an 11-0 run as she scored five points to take a 15-9 lead.  Bloomsburg would not give the lead up for the remainder of the half as they took a 28-21 lead into halftime.

Gallagher paced the Huskies in the first half, scoring 13 points on 4-of-7 shooting including a 3-4 mark from three point range.  Teammate Alyssa Flanagan (Freeland/Hazleton Area) contributed without scoring, pulling down six first half rebounds and assisted on four baskets.

Bloomsburg was held without a field goal through the first five minutes of the second half as the Golden Knights went on a 9-0 run to take a 30-28 lead.  The Huskies would take a 32-30 lead before allowing the game to be tied back up at 34-34.

From there, Gannon held the Huskies scoreless over the next 4:11 to take a 44-34 lead with 8:32 remaining.  The Golden Knights took their largest lead of the night, 51-40, at the 5:20 mark.

Not going away without a fight, Bloomsburg put together an 8-0 run that cut the Gannon lead to just three.  The run was capped with Wieller hitting her fourth three of the night, tying her for first place on BU's all-time list for career three pointers made.

Unfortunately the Golden Knights closed the final 3:22 of play by outscoring Bloomsburg 12-5, handing BU their third conference loss of the season.

Gallagher led all scorers with 20 points along with three rebounds and four assists.  Wieller finished the night with 16 points, 12 coming from made threes.  BU's Flanagan was three assists away from earning a double-double the hard way as she registered seven assists and 10 rebounds.

For the Golden Knights, three players finished with double digits as Caitlyn Lowe scored a team high 17 points.  Freshman Nettie Blake recorded a double-double with 15 points and 10 boards.

Bloomsburg will look to bounce back as they take on Clarion University tomorrow.  Tip-off is set for 5:30 p.m. in Clarion, PA.
