BLOOMSBURG—Tara Huber (Orefield/Parkland)'s goal in the 82nd minute of play gave the Bloomsburg University women's soccer team a 1-0 win over Millersville University Tuesday evening.
 
After a sluggish first half with the Marauders getting off five shots to Bloomsburg's four, play picked up in the second 45-minute period.  Both teams were getting some good looks at the goal, but Bloomsburg goalie Danielle Fiorelli (Warrington/Villa Joseph Marie) and Millersville goalie Olivia Webber each turned away scoring chances.
 
Then, in the 82nd minute, the Huskies Lauren Stedman (Garnet Valley/Garnet Valley) lobbed a pass over the head of the defense to Huber, who drilled a shot to the right side of the goal for a score. For Huber it was her sixth goal of the season.
 
Millersville came back with one final scoring chance with less than 10 seconds to play. Awarded a corner kick, the Marauders Gina Grier lofted the kick to Kelsey Mattola whose header was left of the goal at the buzzer.
 
Overall, Millersville held a 12-8 edge in shots and 6-3 in corner kicks.
 
The Huskies are now 5-8-1, 3-7-1 in the PSAC, while Millersville falls to 3-7-4, 1-7-3 in the PSAC. Bloomsburg plays at West Chester on Saturday at 12:30 p.m.
