Men's Soccer Battles to Two Overtime Tie with Slippery Rock

SLIPPERY ROCK—In a battle of regionally ranked teams the Bloomsburg University men's soccer team played to a 0-0, two overtime tie with Slippery Rock University on Wednesday afternoon.
 
The Huskies, ranked 10th in the latest NSCAA Division II Atlantic Regional rankings, held a 6-2 edge in shots on goal and a 3-1 edge in corner kicks in the opening 45 minutes.
 
Slippery Rock, which came into the game ranked fifth in the regional poll, got off six second half shots compared to seven for the Huskies in the final 45 minutes, but could not score.
 
In the first overtime session Slippery Rock had a breakaway opportunity, but Huskies' goalie Ramon Lobo Jr. (Dillsburg/Northern) came up with the save. Lobo made a second save in the second overtime session on another breakaway to keep the game scoreless.
 
Overall, Lobo made five saves in the game, while Slippery Rock goalie Clayton Master had seven saves.
 
Bloomsburg goes to 5-5-1, 0-2-1 in the PSAC, while Slippery Rock is now 5-2-4, 1-3-1 in the PSAC.
 
The Huskies will host Lock Haven on Saturday at 3:30 p.m. in the Huskies annual Red Card Cancer game.
