Box Score SLIPPERY ROCK—The Bloomsburg University women's soccer team dropped a 5-1 decision to Slippery Rock Wednesday afternoon in Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) play at James Egli Field.
The Huskies (4-6 overall, 2-5 PSAC) scored the first goal of the match off a free kick. Junior defender,
Lauren Kreglow (Whitehall/Allentown Central Catholic) shot the ball to the upper right corner in the 20th minute of play to give BU a 1-0 advantage. This marks Kreglow's first goal of the season and first goal of her career.
The regionally ranked #8 Slippery Rock (7-3, 4-3) scored 20 minutes later to make the score 1-1 at the end of the first half.
SRU scored four goals in the second half to end the game with a 5-1 lead. Lucy Hannon scored two goals and added an assist in the match.
In goal for the Huskies,
Danielle Fiorelli (Warrington/Villa Joseph Marie) made a career high 11 saves. This brings her total saves this season up to 52.
Slippery Rock outshot Bloomsburg 33-3 and held a corner kick advantage of 12-0.
The Huskies are back in PSAC action Saturday, Oct. 6 when they face Lock Haven. The game is set for 1 p.m. and the team will be celebrating the Red Card Cancer campaign.
