WEST CHESTER—Brooke Simonovich (East Stroudsburg/Stroudsburg) scored with 15 seconds left in the first overtime to lift the fifth-ranked Bloomsburg University field hockey team to 3-2 win over top-ranked West Chester on Saturday afternoon in a PSAC (Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference) Eastern Division matchup.

Simonovich scored the game winner on a 2-1 breakaway with Alexis Weber (Bear, DE/William Penn) crossing a ball to Simonovich who tipped it in for the goal. Earlier in the overtime West Chester missed on penalty corner with Megan Eppley (Camp Hill/Camp Hill) getting a big save.

Bloomsburg answered back just over three minutes later when Amber Aulenbach (Fleetwood/Oley Valley) scored off a penalty corner with Cassie DiSabatino (Mountain Top/Crestwood) getting the assist.

The game stayed 1-1 through the rest of the first half before West Chester went back on top just 2:16 into the second half. Michele Schrift scored off a Nancy Stehman assist.

The game-tying score came with the help of West Chester. On a blast by the Huskies Samantha Facciolla (Holland/Council Rock South) outside the circle, the ball deflected off a Golden Ram defender into the far side of the goal for the score.

West Chester had four penalty corner chances in the final 18 minutes, but could not convert. Bloomsburg had one final chance in the closing seconds on a penalty corner, but also came up empty forcing the extra session.

The Huskies go to 11-3, 5-1 in the PSAC East, while West Chester falls to 10-2, 5-1 in the PSAC East.  Bloomsburg will host Millersville on Tuesday night at 6 p.m.
