BLOOMSBURG--Dana Wieller (Bethlehem/Liberty) scored a career-high 32 points and tied a Bloomsburg University record with eight made three-pointers as the Huskies defeated the West Chester Golden Rams 84-76 on Saturday afternoon in a PSAC (Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference) Eastern Division game.

At halftime of the game the Huskies honored the 1991-92 Bloomsburg University women's basketball team on the 20th anniversary of its winning the only PSAC title in school history in women's basketball.

After going down 14-5 to start the game, the Huskies' Kelsey Gallagher (East Stroudsburg/East Stroudsburg South) hit a layup off an assist by Alyssa Flanagan (Freeland/Hazleton Area) with 14:40 to go in the first half, starting an 8-1 run. Wieller capped off the run with 12:42 to go in the half on a jump shot assisted by Kayla Oxenrider (Ashland/Tri-Valley), tying the game at 15.

With 9:30 remaining, Wieller hit a three pointer, putting the team up 25-23 and giving the Huskies' their first lead of the game.
Later Gallagher took a pass from Flanagan and knocked down a three-pointer with 2:58 to go, putting the team up 34-32. From that point, the Huskies would not trail in the game.

Oxenrider hit four free throws in the final 1:23 of the first half and Bloomsburg entered the locker room with a 40-38 lead.
The Huskies wasted no time in adding to their lead to start the second half, as Oxenrider found Wieller open for a three just five seconds into the action.

With 11:29 remaining in the game, Oxenrider picked up another assist, finding Catherine Noack (Bethlehem/Liberty) open in the corner for a three-pointer and sparking a 12-2 run that would give Bloomsburg its largest lead of the game at 13 at 72-59.

West Chester cut the lead to six at the two-minute mark, but Noack and Wieller each hit a pair of free throws in the final minute to secure the victory. Kayla Oxenrider (Ashland/Tri-Valley) scored 19 points and had five assists for Bloomsburg while making 15-of-17 shots from the free throw line; Kelsey Gallagher (East Stroudsburg/East Stroudsburg South) added 17 points and grabbed a team-high seven rebounds, and Alyssa Flanagan (Freeland/Hazleton Area) hauled in five boards while dishing out a game-high six assists.

With the win, the Huskies improved to 20-4, 14-4 in the PSAC East, and have opened a two-game lead on both West Chester and Millersville. With the loss West Chester falls to 16-6, 12-6 in the PSAC East.

Bloomsburg will travel to Mansfield on Wednesday for a 5:30 p.m. game against the Mountaineers.
