FAYETTEVILLE, NC—The Bloomsburg University softball team swept a pair of games from Fayetteville (NC) State on Friday winning by scores of 10-2 in six innings and 8-0 in five innings.

In the opener Chrissy Belko (Old Forge/Old Forge) drove in three runs and Mandi Black (Huntington Mills/Northwest Area) struckout eight in throwing a complete game for Bloomsburg. The Huskies got four runs in the first inning with Belko, Hannah Moir (Mount Laurel, NJ/Lenape ), Lyndsay Busler (Mechanicsburg/Cumberland Valley) and Raychelle Kuhns (Williamsport/Loyalsock) each getting a run batted in.

After Fayetteville got one back in the bottom of the first, the Huskies scored three times in the top of the fourth with Belko, Rachel Fredell (Dingmans Ferry/Delaware Valley) and Moir each getting an RBI to make it 7-1.

In the nightcap the Huskies Caitlin O'Connor (Rockaway, NJ/Morris Knolls) tossed a one-hitter to get the win. Bloomsburg got all the runs it would need in the top of the first inning when Erika Yanora (Tunkhannock/Tunkhannock) doubled and Mandi Baer (Douglassville/Daniel Boone) reached on a fielder's choice to put two runners on for Sam Pientack (Archbald/Valley View). The senior then blasted a three-run homer, her 11th of the season, to put Bloomsburg on top.
