SHIPPENSBURG, PA—The Bloomsburg University women's tennis team improved to 9-6, 5-0 PSAC East with a pair of conference wins over Shippensburg and Cheyney.  Bloomsburg downed Shippensburg 9-0 and won the match against Cheyney by forfeit.

In the match against Shippensburg, the Huskies won 96-of-104 games played today.  Blooomsburg earned a pair of 8-1 victories at first and second doubles while winning 8-0 at the third spot.

The Huskies tallied straight set wins at first through six singles with three of the six matches being decided by identical 6-0, 6-0 scores.  Emily Palko (McMurray/Peters Township), Danielle Walsh (Fairfield, CT/St. John The Baptist), and Natalie Greenholt (Hanover/South Western) were the four 6-0, 6-0 winners.

Michelle Perez (Center Valley/Southern Lehigh) was a 6-1, 6-0 winner at first singles while Nicole Slagle (Irwin/Penn Trafford) earned a 6-2, 6-0 win at fifth singles.  Erin Reitenauer (Whitehall/Whitehall) was 6-0, 6-3 winner at sixth singles.  Bloomsburg's 9-0 win is their first blanking of the season.

Bloomsburg will be back in action against Kutztown on Tuesday, April 10th at 3:30 p.m. in a PSAC East match.
