BLOOMSBURG—The Bloomsburg University men's soccer team scored a 1-0 win over Shepherd University on Tuesday night at Sports Stadium.
 
The teams played evenly for the first 40 minutes of the game with each team registering five shots. After a foul on the Huskies gave the Rams a free kick, the Huskies Fran Miller (Doylestown/Central Bucks East) dumped the ball forward to Miguel Diaz (Doylestown/Central Bucks East) who crossed it to a wide-open Stephen Pieri (Chalfont/Central Bucks South) who headed it into the goal in the 43rd minute.
 
In the second half Huskies goalkeeper Bernie Roell (Douglassville/Daniel Boone) made the one goal stand up as he repeatedly stepped forward and cut off any passes or took the ball away from the Rams offensive attackers.
 
For the game Roell finished with four saves as he posted his first shutout of the season and the second straight for Bloomsburg.
 
Bloomsburg improved to 3-1 on the year, while Shepherd fell to 2-2-1. The Huskies will host Gannon University on Friday at 4:30 p.m.
