Bloomsburg Women's Soccer Falls to Gannon

Box Score BLOOMSBURG—The Bloomsburg University women's soccer team fell to Gannon University 1-0, Friday night at Sports Stadium in Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) action.
 
Despite the Golden Knights (5-0 overall, 2-0 PSAC) scoring the only goal of the match, the Huskies (2-3, 0-2) controlled the ball a majority of the first half.  BU's sophomore goalkeeper Danielle Fiorelli (Warrington/Villa Joseph Marie) had a big performance for the Huskies.  She made six saves in the match, five of which were in the second half. 
 
Senior midfielder Lauren Stedman (Garnet Valley/Garnet Valley) had two shots for Bloomsburg.
 
The only goal of the night was in the eighth minute of the game scored by GU's freshman midfielder Mani Bruckner.  Junior goalkeeper Sarah Geffel recorded her fifth straight shutout of 2012, tallying three saves.
 
For the game, the Huskies had seven shots and three corner kicks. Gannon was credited with 10 shots and four corner kicks.
 
The Huskies are home Saturday, Sept. 15 against the Lakers of Mercyhurst with a start time of 7:30 p.m.
