Box Score BLOOMSBURG—The Bloomsburg women's soccer team sailed past Mercyhurst 2-0 Saturday night at Sports Stadium.
Sophomore goalkeeper
Danielle Fiorelli (Warrington/Villa Joseph Marie) recorded her third shutout of the season by making four saves for the Huskies (3-3 overall, 1-1 PSAC).
Bloomsburg's first goal was by junior
Tara Huber (Orefield/Parkland) in the 29th minute. Huber headed the ball into the back of the net after a pass by junior
Kyleigh Reckage (Manasquan, NJ/Wall). The goal marks Huber's third of the season and Reckage's first assist.
The Huskies second goal was made by junior defender
Jessy Shober (Marietta/Donegal), her second of the season. Shober shot the ball from 20 yards out sending it right between the Mercyhurst goalie's legs in the 65th minute.
For the Lakers, (3-3, 0-2) Janine Wong and Gabrielle Catrabone each had two shots. Goalie Ellie McDougall made three saves for Mercyhurst.
Both Bloomsburg and Mercyhurst had eight shots a piece, but corner kicks favored the Huskies 5-2.
Bloomsburg is home next on Wednesday, Sept. 19 vs. Kutztown with a 6:00 p.m. start.
