Bloomsburg Suffers Setback to Kutztown

Box Score BLOOMSBURG—The Bloomsburg University women's soccer team dropped a 2-0 decision to Kutztown University Wednesday night in Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) play at Sports Stadium.
 
Tara Huber (Orefield/Parkland) led the Huskies (3-4 overall, 1-3 PSAC) on offense with three shots.  In goal, freshman Shelby Koch (Mechanicsburg/Mechanicsburg) made her first collegiate appearance for BU.  She didn't allow a goal for the last 67:38 and made five saves.
 
The Golden Bears (5-2, 4-0) scored the first goal of the match in the eighth minute with by Sam Costello assisted by Taylor Burt.  KU's second goal was shortly after at 11:02 by BrieAnn Shipkowski from 40 yards out with an odd bounce over BU starting goalkeeper, Danielle Fiorelli (Warrington/Villa Joseph Marie)'s, head.
 
Kutztown favored in shots over Bloomsburg, 22-5, and held a corner kick advantage of 9-2.  KU goalie, Casey Behrendt, made two saves.
 
The Huskies are on the road for the next three games starting Friday, Sept. 28 when they face Clarion at 12 p.m.
