LAFAYETTE HILL—Fran Miller (Doylestown/Central Bucks East) scored two goals and added two assists to lead the Bloomsburg University men's soccer team to a 5-1 win over Chestnut Hill College on Tuesday night.

The Huskies, ranked seventh in this week's NSCAA Atlantic Regional poll, took the lead in the 16th minute when Miller settled a ball, then drilled it past goalie David Sullivan for a 1-0 lead.

The game remained 1-0 for the remainder of the first half and nearly 20 minutes into the second half of action. In the 63rd minute Chestnut Hill's Hernan Angulo scored off a double assist from Darryl Richardson and Channing Couillard to knot the game at 1-1.

Bloomsburg regained the lead six minutes later when Bryce Shaffer (Gettysburg/Gettysburg) took a short pass from Miller and shot past Sullivan for a 2-1 lead. The goal opened the flood gates for the Huskies as Miller scored his second goal of the game in the 74th minute when he gathered a loose ball in front of the goal and scored to make it 3-1.

In the final nine minutes of action Spencer Conrad (Enola/East Pennsboro) scored two goals, with Miller getting an assist on one, to make the final 5-1.

The win was the 99th at Bloomsburg for Huskies head coach Paul Payne. The Huskies, now 5-3, will try to get him win number 100 this Friday at the University of Charleston starting at 7 p.m.
