BLOOMSBURG--Catherine Noack (Bethlehem/Liberty) scored 20 points to lead the Bloomsburg University women's basketball team to an 86-43 victory over East Stroudsburg University in a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Eastern Division matchup Wednesday evening.

After East Stroudsburg jumped out to a quick 9-0 lead just two minutes into the game, the Huskies went on a 14-0 run led by eight straight points from Noack with 13:33 left in the opening half. Later with the Huskies leading 24-16, Bloomsburg used a 17-7 run over the final 7:36 to lead by 18 going into halftime. Bloomsburg used a suffocating defense in the opening half forcing 21 turnovers, while limiting the Warriors to just 18 shot attempts and 23 points.

The Bloomsburg defense continued to dominate after the break as they held the Warriors scoreless for the first four minutes of the half and to just nine points over the first 10 minutes of play. The Huskies offense meanwhile was clicking with Bloomsburg slowly building upon its lead. A Marla Simmons (Lebanon/Cedar Crest) layup with 11:12 left gave Bloomsburg a 66-30 lead, while later two free throws from Lauren Nealon (Ambler/Archbishop Wood) pushed the margin to 41 points with the Huskies eventually winning by 43.

For the game the Bloomsburg defense held the Warriors to just 25 percent shooting from the field (11-44) and forced 40 turnovers, which led to 41 points. Offensively the Huskies got scoring from 14 of the 16 players who saw action in the game.

Noack tied her season high in points with 20 for Bloomsburg and was the only Huskies player in double figures. Four players, Danielle Derr (Dresner/Upper Dublin), Dana Wieller (Bethlehem/Liberty), Brianna Dudeck (Sugarloaf/Hazleton) and Jocelyn Ford (Lansing, NY/Lansing), scored eight points each. Wieller's total pushed her past former teammate Kelsey Gallagher (East Stroudsburg/East Stroudsburg South) into third place on the school's all-time scoring list with 1,719 points.

For the Warriors, who fell to 5-13, 4-10 in the PSAC, Ryanna Fiascki led the way with 18 points and four rebounds.

The Huskies (14-4, 10-4 PSAC) will hit the road for Kutztown University Saturday at 1 pm.
