MILLERSVILLE—Ashley Sanchez (Lyndhurst/DePaul Catholic) scored the game's only goal to give the Bloomsburg University women's soccer team a 1-0 win over Millersville University Wednesday night in PSAC (Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference) action.
 
After a scoreless first half in which the Marauders outshot the Huskies 3-0, Bloomsburg made its first shots of the game count.
 
Jenna Fisher (Selinsgrove/Selinsgrove) had a breakaway opportunity, but Millersville keeper Olivia Webber made a save on the play. Webber though could not contain the shot and the rebound fell near a trailing Sanchez. The sophomore then immediately placed a shot into the open goal and gave the Huskies a 1-0 lead with just under 30 minutes to play.
 
Bloomsburg would get off just two more shots the rest of the game, while its defense turned away each scoring opportunity for the Marauders.
 
Bloomsburg goalie Danielle Fiorelli (Warrington/Villa Joseph Marie) earned the shutout win and finished with four saves, while Webber had three for Millersville.
 
Bloomsburg goes to 6-8, 4-8 in the PSAC, while Millersville falls to 6-6-1, 5-5-1 in the PSAC. The Huskies host Shippensburg on Saturday at 3:30 p.m. at Sports Stadium.
