BLOOMSBURG – Chris Pawlowski (Philadelphia/LaSalle)'s goal shortly before intermission gave the Bloomsburg men's soccer team all the scoring it needed to secure a 1-0 victory over visiting Lock Haven on Saturday night at Sports Stadium.

With the win the Huskies improve to 6-9-1 overall on the season including a 4-5-1 mark in Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) competition. Lock Haven, meanwhile, falls to 4-11-0 overall and 2-8-0 in the PSAC.

The two teams played to a draw for the first 44 minutes under the lights at chilly and windswept Sports Stadium. Pawlowski gave the Huskies the lead shortly before the halftime break, taking a cross in front from Miguel Diaz (Doylestown/Central Bucks East) and finishing with a one-timer past the Lock Haven keeper.

Bloomsburg kept that momentum through the second half, limiting Lock Haven to just three shots after halftime. The Bald Eagles were not able to mount a shot on goal over the final 45 minutes, with their last shot sailing wide right in the 85th minute.

Bernie Roell (Douglassville/Daniel Boone) secured his fifth shutout of the season, making two saves to earn the victory in goal. The senior goalkeeper now has 14 shutouts for his BU career, good for second all-time in the school record books behind only Keith Cincotta's 18.5 shutouts between 1987-90.

The Huskies held a 13-7 edge in shots during the contest and were awarded two corner kicks to Lock Haven's one. Mike Bamford (Doylestown/Central Bucks West) led Bloomsburg in shot attempts with four on the night.

Next up for the Huskies is a trip to Shepherdstown, West Va., and a non-conference contest vs. Shepherd on Tuesday afternoon beginning at 2 p.m.
