STORYLINE
The Bloomsburg Huskies play the Mercyhurst Lakers at home this weekend in Sports Stadium Saturday at 1 p.m. Mercyhurst had been ranked No. 19 in the nation before losing in their last match to Millersville.
 
LAST TIME OUT
(BOX SCORE) On Tuesday, the Huskies were defeated 2-0 on the road at Gannon University in Erie. Nate Conrad (Enola/East Pennsboro) and Spencer Conrad (Enola/East Pennsboro) each contributed three shots on goal for the Huskies. Meanwhile, Huskies starting goalkeeper Bernie Roell (Douglassville/Daniel Boone) managed four saves.
 
SCOUTING MERCYHURST
The Mercyhurst Lakers will travel to Bloomsburg currently holding a 3-0 record on the road.  Mercyhurst continues their winning season with 21 goals throughout their nine games played. Currently two of Mercyhurst's players are ranked in the top 10 scorers in the conference.  Fernando Martinez is currently the leading scorer in the PSAC with eight goals. Danny Deakin is seventh in the PSAC with six goals.  Goalkeeper Mikko Sarkkinen has made 30 saves in goal. The Lakers were upset, 2-1, by Millersville in their last time out vs. Millersville at home last Saturday.
 
ROELL RANKS FIRST
Huskies starting goalkeeper Bernie Roell (Douglassville/Daniel Boone) has a total of four shutouts in the nine games played so far this season. These four shutouts rank him number one in the PSAC so far on the year, ahead of Slippery Rock's Joe Agerskow who has three. Within these nine games Roell now has 48 saves for the season which ranks him again in the first place position in the PSAC for average saves per game at 5.33.
 
MILLER LEADS IN GOALS
Senior forward Fran Miller (Doylestown/Central Bucks East) currently leads the Huskies in points with five points. Miller has scored two of the seven goals this far for the season for the Huskies.  Miller also contributed one assist.
 
ALL-TIME SERIES
Mercyhurst leads the all-time series 12-0-0.
 
LAST MEETING
(BOX SCORE) Last time Bloomsburg played Mercyhurst, the Huskies fell to the Lakers, 2-1 at home on Sept. 15, 2012.  Anthony Manero (Richboro/Council Rock North) scored in the seventh minute to give BU the early lead, but the Lakers scored twice in the second half to win the contest.
