Huskies Down Mansfield in Women's Soccer

Box Score BLOOMSBURG-- The Bloomsburg University women's soccer team won its fifth game of the year on Saturday with a 3-1 decision over the Mansfield Mountaineers.

In the opening of the first half, the Huskies controlled most of the action, managing two shots on goal in 15 minutes of play. The first goal of the game came in the 18th minute when freshman Jenna Fisher (Selinsgrove/Selinsgrove) stole the ball off a Mansfield player and snuck a shot to the far right corner past goaltender Sarah Nezelek.

Less than 10 minutes later, Jamie Vaniver (Holland/Council Rock South) crossed a shot off Nezelek and teammate Allie Camp (Beavertown/Midd-West) finished the play for the go-ahead goal. At 30:21 the Mountaineers responded with a goal of their own from Jessica Allen taking the score to 2-1 before the end of the first.
In the second half the team's played evenly before the Huskies' Tara Huber (Orefield/Parkland) took a pass from Stephanie Tuccio (Exton/Bishop Shanahan) and angled a shot to the far left corner of the goal to make it 3-1.

In goal for the Huskies, Danielle Fiorelli (Warrington/Villa Joseph Marie) registered five saves in 90 minutes of action.

Next up Bloomsburg, now 5-6, 3-6 PSAC, will host Slippery Rock on Oct. 11 at 3 p.m.
