BLOOMSBURG—The Bloomsburg University men's soccer team ended its 2013 season by defeating East Stroudsburg 1-0 in a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) match up at Sports Stadium on Saturday.  Prior to the game the seniors of the team were honored; Brad Pratzner, Roma Loboda (Waverly/Abington Heights), Bernie Roell (Douglassville/Daniel Boone), Anthony Manero (Richboro/Council Rock North), Fran Miller (Doylestown/Central Bucks East), Michael Del Sordi (Scotch Plains, NJ/Scotch Plains-Fanwood), and Matt Cannon (Wrightstown/Council Rock North).

The game started with an intense back and forth first half which would remain at a 0-0 deadlock.  Bloomsburg took eight shots in the half, while East Stroudsburg had seven.

In the second half Fran Miller (Doylestown/Central Bucks East) scored the lone goal of the game for Bloomsburg when Matt Zima (Newtown/Council Rock North) crossed the ball in from the sideline and Miller headed it over the goalkeeper.  This gave the Huskies a 1-0 lead with just over 15 minutes to play in the game.

The goal was Miller's sixth goal this season and 22nd of his career.

The Warriors, who fall to 2-13-2, and 2-8 in the PSAC, outshot Bloomsburg 15-12, but the Huskies held an advantage in corner kicks 10-4.

In goal Bernie Roell (Douglassville/Daniel Boone) made ten saves and recorded his sixth shutout of the season which ties him at third with Greg Malloch in the school record for most shutouts in a single season.  He now has 15 career shutouts and ranks second in Bloomsburg history.

The Huskies finished their season with an overall record of 8-9-1 and 5-5-1 in the PSAC.
