BLOOMSBUIRG--The Bloomsburg University women's tennis team beat Shepherd University, 8-1, on Monday in the home opener for the Huskies.

Bloomsburg easily won all three doubles matches with the number one team of Natalie Greenholt (Hanover/South Western) and Aida Diop (Allentown/Emmaus) winning 8-1.

In singles play the Huskies had their number five and six players, Lindsey Tennis (Quakertown/Quakertown) and Erin Reitenauer (Whitehall/Whitehall), both win in straight sets, 6-0, 6-0. Diop also posted a win at number two singles winning 6-1, 6-0. Overall, in the five singles matches the Huskies won they dropped just eight games.

Bloomsburg, 2-7, will host East Stroudsburg on Friday. The match was originally scheduled for Tuesday, but has been moved.
