Huskies Take PSAC Matches from Shippensburg, East Stroudsburg

BLOOMSBURG, Pa. – The Bloomsburg University women's tennis team swept a pair of PSAC matches, starting the day with a 9-0 win over Shippensburg, before defeating East Stroudsburg 72.
 
Against the Raiders, Erin Reitenauer (Whitehall/Whitehall) and Nicole Slagle (Irwin/Penn Trafford) got BU started on the right foot with an 8-2 win at third doubles over Kaity Erickson and Kayla Strohl in the first complete match of the morning.  Lindsey Tennis (Quakertown/Quakertown) and Caitlin Flynn (Cedar Grove, NJ/Cedar Grove) teamed up for a win at second doubles, 8-3, and Aida Diop (Allentown/Emmaus) and Natalie Greenholt (Hanover/South Western) completed the doubles sweep with an 8-5 win at first doubles.
 
Reitenauer again made quick work of her opponent in singles play, winning 6-0, 6-1.  Flynn picked up a flawless 6-0, 6-0 win at fifth singles to seal the victory for the Huskies.
 
Diop notched a 6-2, 6-2 win at first singles and Tennis won 6-1, 6-1 at fourth singles.  At sixth singles, Slagle was a 6-2, 6-1 winner.  Alyssa Diples entered the singles lineup and clinched the shutout with a 7-5, 6-1 win at third singles.
 
Against the Warriors, Reitenauer and Slagle shutout their opponents 8-0 at third doubles to open the match.  Diop and Greenholt won 8-5 at first doubles before East Stroudsburg took the win at second doubles to send the match to singles play with the Huskies ahead 2-1.

Slagle and Reitenauer picked up quick wins in singles play.  Slagle scored an unblemished 6-0, 6-0 win at sixth singles before Reitenauer won 6-2, 6-0 at fifth singles for a 4-2 led. 

Flynn ensured the win with a 6-1, 6-0 victory at second singles for the Huksies fifth point of the afternoon.  

Diop was a 6-1, 6-2 winner at first singles and Tennis picked up a hard fought 6-3, 4-6, 10-8 win at fourth singles.  

The wins brought BU to an even 3-3 in the PSAC and 4-7 overall in 2012-13.  

The Huskies put a three-match win streak on the line when they travel to Kutztown on April 9 for a 2 p.m. PSAC match.
