Men's Soccer Team Falls on Saturday

BLOOMSBURG— The Bloomsburg University men's soccer team suffered a 2-0 loss to Concordia (NY) Saturday at Sports Stadium.
 
The Huskies came out firing in the first half of the game outshooting holding an 11-5 advantage. Bloomsburg's best scoring opportunity coming from Nate Conrad (Enola/East Pennsboro) who had a skillful spin maneuver and shot, which was blocked by the Concordia goalie.
 
Concordia scored the game's first goal off a deflection at 36:23 by Victor Ruiz giving them the 1-0 lead.
 
The second half did not look much different for either team with the Huskies again outshooting Concordia 10-4. At 58:32 Concordia's Ovan Oakley had a breakaway goal that hit the top crossbar and bounced in the goal putting Concordia up, 2-0.
 
Bloomsburg's best scoring chance in the second half came with three minutes left in the game when Conrad headed a ball and just missed the left corner of the goal.
 
Bloomsburg falls to 3-4-1 with the loss and will play at Gannon on Wednesday at 4:00 p.m.
