Saturday, January 25 - 1:00 p.m.
Kutztown, PA (Keystone Arena)
KUTZTOWN, Pa. - The Bloomsburg University women's basketball team takes its seven-game winning streak into Kutztown on Saturday afternoon as it completes the first round of PSAC East play. The Golden Bears are the only East Division team Bloomsburg has yet to take on this year, with the Huskies currently holding a 5-2 mark in the divisional standings and in second place behind West Chester (6-1).
SCOUTING KUTZTOWN
The Golden Bears will try to snap a three-game losing streak on Saturday after dropping divisional games to Millersville (65-64), Lock Haven (66-51) and Shippensburg (86-57) over the past 10 days to drop to sixth in the PSAC East standings. A win over Cheyney, 67-52, is the team's lone win of 2014 thus far as the Bears have dropped eight of their past nine overall. Kutztown ranks 15th in scoring offense (65.2) and 10th in scoring defense (70.8). KU has struggled on the boards with its -3.2 rebounding margin ranking 15th in the conference this season. The Golden Bears rank third as a team in blocks per game (4.0), however, led by junior forward Advia Campbell's 37 swats.
KU does not have one standout scorer, as four players average between 7.1 and 10.1 points per game, led by redshirt junior Alyssa Bonenberger who has 10.1 ppg in 31.9 minutes per contest.Â
