SENIOR NIGHT: The Huskies will honor seniors
Nate Conrad (Enola/East Pennsboro) and Roma Laboda. Conrad has started in 61 games as a Husky and has 10 points. Loboda has started in 34 games scoring three goals in his career.
Â
LAST GAME: The Huskies defeated California (Pa.) on Saturday, 1-0. The Huskies' goal was a Vulcans own goal after
Nate Conrad (Enola/East Pennsboro) fired a shot that was turned away by the goalie. The ball deflected near the goal line, allowing
Hamilton Rodkey (Pittsburgh/Penn Hills) to shoot on net and as the ball rolled toward the line, a Vulcans defender accidentally shot it into the top shelf of the goal. Conrad led the Huskies' offensive pressure with three shot attempts while
Austin Transue (Langhorne/Neshaminy) and
Josh Smith (Mechanicsburg/Mechanicsburg) each had two shots.
Jared Ott (Philadelphia/Archbishop Ryan) finished with his sixth shutout of the year to move into a tie for third all-time in Huskies' single season history.
Â
LAST TIME OUT: The Huskies defeated the Marauders 2-1 in overtime in last year's game. The Huskies trailed 1-0 until the 88th minute when
Matt Cannon (Wrightstown/Council Rock North) found the back of the net off of a corner kick, sending the game into overtime.
Fran Miller (Doylestown/Central Bucks East) scored the game winning goal just four minutes into overtime.
Â
SCOUTING MILLERVILLE: The Marauders come into this match with a winless record on the road. Losing a physical match to West Chester puts the team at 4-9-1 overall and 3-4-0 in the PSAC. Millersville has been out shot 77-111 on the season, 20 goals and two shutouts. Millersville is tied for fifth in the PSAC.
Â
DEFENSE HONORED: The entire Bloomsburg defensive unit was honored as PSAC Men's Soccer Athletes of the Week following a pair of shutout wins at Slippery Rock and California (PA). The Huskies shut out Slippery Rock which entered the day ranked second in the conference in scoring by averaging over 2.2 goals per game on the season. At Cal, the Huskies did not allow a single shot on goal. Bloomsburg's starting back line is made up of
Roma Loboda (Waverly/Abington Heights),
Mike Bamford (Doylestown/Central Bucks West),
Matt Zima (Newtown/Council Rock North) and
Stephen Pieri (Chalfont/Central Bucks South). For the year, Bloomsburg has surrendered just 14 goals - the fewest in the PSAC.
