SHIPPENSBURG—The Bloomsburg University women's soccer team lost to Shippensburg University, 2-0, on Saturday in a PSAC (Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference) matchup.

In the first half of action the Raiders held a 13-2 edge in shots on goal, but only led 1-0 at the break on Mallory Patterson's goal in the 40th minute. Patterson scored on a crossing pass from Jenny Litz.

The Huskies offensive attack came on in the second half getting off 10 shots to just two six for the home team. But Shippensburg scored an insurance goal in the 69th minute when Caitlin Sheehan scored off a Haley Jones assist.

Megan Deak (West Islip, NY/West Islip) finished with five saves in the game, while the Raiders Kayla Lennedy made six.

The Huskies drop to 6-8-2, 5-8-2 in the PSAC, while Shippensburg improves to 4-7-3, 4-7-3 in the PSAC.

Bloomsburg is back in action on Wednesday at 2 p.m. playing at Davis and Elkins.
