Felicia Domenici (Kunkletown/Pleasant Valley) scored a late goal to lead the Huskies field hockey team to a 2-0 win over IUP on Wednesday at Steph Pettit Stadium.

The Huskies dominated the action in the opening minutes and were awarded four penalty corners in a four-minute stretch of play. On the fourth corner attempt the Huskies
Candice Smith (Selinsgrove/Selinsgrove) took a shot that was saved by IUP's Darian Shhuker. The ball though bounced off the pads of Shuker and towards the stick of Hill who banged home a shot that hit the back of the cage for a 1-0 lead just 5:38 into the game.

Bloomsburg looked like it would add to its lead as it controlled field position throughout most of the opening 35 minutes. The Huskies tallied seven shots to just one for the Crimson Hawks and held a 9-0 edge in corners. Shuker though made five saves for IUP to keep the score 1-0 at the break.

In the second half the Huskies and Crimson Hawks played mainly a field position game with neither team getting an extended push towards the goal. The Huskies did hold a slight edge, 4-2 in shots on goal in the final 35 minutes, while corners were even at 3-3.

The Huskies tacked on their final goal in the closing seconds of the game.
Nikki Gattone (Reading/Muhlenberg) got the ball in the circle and fed a wide-open Domenci with a pass with the Domenici driving home the score to the lower left of the goal with three seconds to play. The goal was the seventh of the season for the senior.
Bloomsburg improves to 6-10, 4-9 in the PSAC, while IUP drops to 6-10, 5-9 in the PSAC. The Huskies close out the season with Senior Day on Saturday at 1 p.m. at Steph Pettit Stadium.
