Marla Simmons (Lebanon/Cedar Crest) scored 11 points to lead three players in double figures as the Bloomsburg University women's basketball team beat East Stroudsburg, 60-51, on Saturday in PSAC Eastern Division action.

The Huskies held the early edge in the game slowly stretching it lead to six points on the Warriors, 24-18, on a basket by
Erica Maciejewski (Red Lion/Red Lion) with 6:14 left in the half.

East Stroudsburg rallied with a 9-0 run to go up by three points, 27-24, with 2:37 left to go before the break. Bloomsburg came back though with an 8-0 run of its own regaining the lead on a jumper by
Jocelyn Ford (Lansing, NY/Lansing) and went to halftime with a 32-28 edge.

Bloomsburg turned up the defensive pressure in the second half using an 18-4 run to go up by 18 points, 50-32, on a jumper by
Morgan Klunk (Felton/York Catholic) with 9:29 to play. The lead stayed in double digits till the final minute as the Warriors closed with a 14-5 run.

Along with Simmons getting 11,
Taylor Maldonado (Stroudsburg/Allentown Central Catholic) and Klunk each scored 10 points, while
Jocelyn Ford (Lansing, NY/Lansing) added nine points and eight rebounds. East Stroudsburg got 18 from Jessica Martin.

Bloomsburg goes to 5-1, 3-0 in the PSAC East, while ESU falls to 2-4, 1-3 in the PSAC East. The Huskies are idle till Dec. 16 when they visit Clarion.
