ROAD TO THE CHAMPIONSHIP GAME
The fourth-seeded Huskies reached Monday's title game by defeating nationally-ranked foes in back-to-back nights, getting past No. 13 Virginia State from the CIAA, 75-57, on Friday night before upsetting top-seeded Glenville State, the ninth-ranked team in the country and Mountain East champion, 91-78, on Saturday.

Edinboro, the No. 2 seed in the Atlantic Region and ranked 25th in the nation, escaped a scare from seventh-seeded Charleston (WV), 64-62, in the first round and then defeated rival Gannon, 77-69, for the fourth time on the year in the semifinals.

FIRST MEETING
Bloomsburg won the only meeting of the season between the teams, 84-71, at Edinboro's McComb Fieldhouse on Dec. 17. The Huskies shot a season-best 57.9 percent that night, led by 18 points from Catherine Noack (Bethlehem/Liberty). Maggie Borski (Philadelphia/Nazareth Academy) added 16 points while Erica Maciejewski (Red Lion/Red Lion) and Marla Simmons (Lebanon/Cedar Crest) each netted 10 points. Bloomsburg handed out 22 assists on 33 made field goals.

For Edinboro, Laurel Lindsay and Valerie Majewski provided a strong one-two punch, recording 16 and 14 points respectively. Aignee Freeland also added 12 points and seven rebounds.

SCOUTING EDINBORO
The Fighting Scots won their third PSAC championship in four years under longtime head coach Stan Swank, the PSAC West Coach of the Year. Edinboro has won 10 straight games, including a 104-82 PSAC semifinal win over West Chester and an 86-76 win over local rival Gannon in the championship game. PSAC West Athlete of the Year Val Majewski has added a jolt to the Scots after transferring from Division I University at Buffalo for this year. The junior tied a school record with 16 assists in the West Chester win and then poured in 33 points in the win over Gannon. Majewski leads the team with 16.2 points and 4.2 assists per game while fellow first team PSAC West pick Aignee' Freeland adds a strong post presence with 14.2 ppg and 9.2 rebounds per game. Senior Darche' Jackson (11.2 ppg) was named PSAC West Defensive Athlete of the Year while Laurel Lindsay (12.6 ppg/4.9 rpg) can play point, on the wing or in the post. The last regional title for the Scots came in 1997 when Edinboro reached the Elite Eight.

SERIES HISTORY
Edinboro leads 13-11

The Huskies and Edinboro have met in the NCAA Tournament once - an 82-62 Fighting Scots win in the 1990 First Round. The two have forged an interesting rivalry in recent years - EUP swept two games in 2011-12, including a PSAC Championship Game win, but the Huskies have won three straight over the Scots including a 2013 PSAC semifinal victory and an 84-71 road win this season.
