PhotosBLOOMSBURG – The Bloomsburg University women's tennis team battled visiting Wilkes to the wire on Saturday afternoon, but dropped a 5-4 decision when a three-set victory for the Colonels as No. 2 singles decided the contest.
Bloomsburg dominated doubles competition, sweeping the three matches. At No. 1 doubles, the tandem of
Maddie Graziani (Woodbury, NJ/Woodbury) and
Aida Diop (Allentown/Emmaus) posted an 8-4 win over Ally Kristofco and Ana English. At No. 2,
Nicole Slagle (Irwin/Penn Trafford) and
Natalie Greenholt (Hanover/South Western) also posted an 8-4 triumph over Kendra Croker and Taylor Hoffman.
Erin Reitenauer (Whitehall/Whitehall) and
Caitlin Flynn (Cedar Grove, NJ/Cedar Grove) completed the doubles sweep with a 9-7 victory over Madison Salmon and Olivia Hewison.
Graziani was victorious at No. 1 singles, getting past Kristofco 6-2, 4-6, 10-6. Wilkes, which improved to 16-2 on the season, would capture the victory with five singles wins.
Before the match, the Huskies honored their three senior team members – Greenholt, Liples and Slagle.
The Huskies finish their season at 8-9 after going 6-0 against competition from the PSAC East.
