Box Score BOX SCORE (HTML)BLOOMSBURG—The Bloomsburg University men's soccer team knocked Seton Hill University from the ranks of the unbeaten with a dominating 3-0 win Friday night at Steph Pettit Stadium.
A few days after putting five goals on the board at Chestnut Hill College, the Huskies controlled play in the first half against Seton Hill getting of 11 shots to none for the Griffins. Then in the 23rd minute of play Bloomsburg finally broke through with a goal. On a free kick by
Josh Smith (Mechanicsburg/Mechanicsburg) from 30 yards out, the ball went to the box where a host of players battled for control. On the play Bloomsburg's
Nick Izzo (Frankford, DE/Indian River) was finally able to gather the ball in and easily push the ball past Griffins goalie Cameron Evans for a 1-0 lead.

Early in the second half the Huskies extended the margin to 2-0 when
Matt Zima (Newtown/Council Rock North) was interfered with in the box while making a move resulting in a penalty kick. On the PK, Zima drilled the shot to the left of the goalie extending the Huskies lead.

Bloomsburg made it 3-0 in the 66th minute on a corner kick.
Nate Conrad (Enola/East Pennsboro) started the play with a perfectly placed ball, head high, where Roman Laboda was standing and headed the ball past Evans' outstretched hand for a 3-0 lead.

In goal Huskies freshman
Jared Ott (Philadelphia/Archbishop Ryan) played a solid game coming out of the box on numerous occasions to kick away or save potential trouble for the Huskies. For the game Ott totaled five saves.

Bloomsburg finished with 14 shots on goal to just five for the Griffins and also held a 4-3 edge in corner kicks.

Seton Hill falls to 3-1-1, 0-1 in the PSAC, while the Huskies are now 2-1-1, 1-0 in the PSAC. Bloomsburg hosts Pitt-Johnstown on Saturday at 5:30 p.m.
