Box Score BOX SCORE (HTML)BLOOMSBURG—One day after playing to a scoreless double overtime tie, the Bloomsburg University women's soccer team saw its offense come alive in a 3-0 win over Pitt-Johnstown on Saturday.

The Huskies dominated play in the opening half of action getting off 13 shots to just one for the Lady Cats. Bloomsburg started quickly registering four shots on goal in the first 10 minutes of play.

In the 17th minute of action
Megan Carroll (Middletown/Middletown Area) took a crossing pass in the box from
Ashley Sanchez (Lyndhurst/DePaul Catholic). Carroll dribbled with the ball for a second or two, then faked a right-footed kick and came in with a left-footed shot that went off the hands of the UPJ goalie in the top right of the net.

While the offense was controlling play the defense permitted just one shot on goal and that wasn't until just before the half with
Megan Deak (West Islip, NY/West Islip) making the save.

Despite controlling play the Huskies did not extend their lead till the 81st minute when Brooke Mohoney gathered in a loose ball and beat the goalie for a 2-0 advantage. Bloomsburg made it 3-0 in the 83rd minute when
Sierra Fortunato (Kennett Square/Unionville) took a shot from 25-yards out that deflected off the goalkeepers hand making it 3-0.

The Huskies dominated the stat sheet holding a 24-3 edge in shots and a 4-0 edge in corner kicks. Deak posted her second straight shutout for Bloomsburg by stopping three shots.

UPJ falls to 0-6, 0-5 in the PSAC, while the Huskies are 4-2-1, 3-2-1 in the PSAC. Bloomsburg plays at East Stroudsburg on Wednesday at 7 p.m.
