BOX SCORE (HTML)BLOOMSBURG—In a battle of top 10 teams the third-ranked Shippensburg University Raiders beat the ninth-ranked Bloomsburg University Huskies, 3-0, on Saturday at Steph Pettit Stadium.

The teams were scoreless until the 16th minute when Kendall Black took a shot that Tori Ricker deflected into the goal putting the Raiders up 1-0.

Shippensburg added to its lead at 24:14 on an unassisted goal from Emily Barnard who tipped in a ball that came from outside the circle.

Bloomsburg had a good look at the goal late in the first half but a shot by
Meagen Hill (Gettysburg/Gettysburg) went wide left keeping it a 2-0 game at the break.

The Raiders added to their lead in 53rd minute of play when Barnard scored her second goal of the day off an assist from Lucy Kauffman.

Bloomsburg finished with nine shots on goal to seven for the Raiders, while Shippensburg held a 12-8 advantage in penalty corners.

Shippensburg improves to 6-1, 4-1 in the PSAC, while Bloomsburg falls to 2-5, 1-4 in the PSAC.

The Huskies are back in action on Saturday, Oct. 4 at noon.
