BLOOMSBURG – A goal in the 85th minute from West Chester's Alex Caplan proved to be the difference as the visiting Golden Rams came away with a 2-1 men's soccer victory on Saturday evening at Steph Pettit Stadium.

West Chester (5-3, 3-1 PSAC) started the scoring in the 53rd minute after the teams played to a scoreless draw during the first half. Caplan scored off a penalty kick for the 1-0 lead.

The Huskies (4-2-1, 3-1-0 PSAC) knotted the score in the 72nd minute.
Spencer Conrad (Enola/East Pennsboro) scored his first goal of the season from outside the 18-yard box, launching a ball over the head of the Rams keeper into the upper left of the net for the 1-1 tie.

Caplan, however, found the back of the net for the second time to give the visitors the lead late.

Bloomsburg nearly tied the score in the final minute as a shot from
Brian Kilcoyne (Bensalem/Bensalem) was right on, but West Chester keeper Matt Palmer made the leaping save to preserve the win for the Rams.

The Huskies finished with a 9-4 edge in shots. Palmer made three saves in net to earn the win.

Bloomsburg continues its four-game home stand with a non-conference date against Nyack on Wednesday, Oct. 1 at 4 p.m.
