STORYLINEThe Huskies begin the 2014 season with a pair of games in South Carolina this weekend, taking on Limestone on Saturday morning before facing Newberry on Sunday morning. The Huskies faced Limestone last year but have never faced Newberry.
ABOUT THE HUSKIESBloomsburg returns 18 players from last year's team which reached the PSAC semifinals. The Huskies, who were picked fourth in the PSAC preseason coaches' poll, again boast a young roster with five freshmen and 11 sophomores. Bloomsburg has two returning all-conference players from last year on the roster - seniors
Candice Smith (Selinsgrove/Selinsgrove) and
Felicia Domenici (Kunkletown/Pleasant Valley).
SCOUTING LIMESTONEThe Saints are picked to win the inaugural ECAC Division II Field Hockey League after coming off their best season in school history. They will return with three of their biggest offensive weapons in Rachel Goromonzi, Jill Funkhouser and Rebekah Baker.
SCOUTING NEWBERRYThe Wolves are entering the 2014 season following their first season as a program last year. They will be returning sophomore mdifielder Caitlyn Warren, who led the team in points with 20 last season.
ALL-TIME SERIESBloomsburg leads the all-time series with Limestone 1-0.
Sunday will be the first meeting between Bloomsburg and Newberry.

Box Score) The Huskies played host to #7 Limestone on Oct. 27 of last season in a matchup of nationally ranked teams, emerging with a 3-1 victory at Sports Stadium.

Jaclyn Beaslley would net two second half goals for Bloomsburg and that lead wouldn't be relinquished.
LOGGING SOME MILESThe Huskies will make the 594 mile trip to take on nationally-ranked Limestone in Gaffney, S.C. on Saturday. From there they will go another 82 miles to battle Newberry to complete the road trip.
