StatisticsLAST TIME OUT ...Bloomsburg opened the season with a come-from-behind, 76-72, victory at New Haven on Friday, November 13. Junior
Mia Hopkins (Pittston/Pittston Area), playing in her first career game with the Huskies, poured in a game-high 24 points and was tops in the contest in rebounds (14) and assists (6). She shot 8-of-16 from the floor and a perfect 8-of-8 from the free throw line. The Huskies improved to 3-2 lifetime against New Haven in the all-time series.
Goldey-Beacom enters Tuesday's game with an 0-2 record, dropping a pair of contests at the Assumption Tip-Off Classic last weekend. The Lightning lost by an 86-61 final against Stonehill in the opener on Friday and then lost to the hosts, 64-47, on Saturday.
ALL-TIME SERIES ...The Huskies lead the all-time series against the Lightning, 2-1. The teams first met on November 25, 2008 - a 78-47 victory at Bloomsburg. In that game, Courtney Kegerreis scored her 1,000th career point for the Huskies. After a 13-point (70-57) victory by the Lightning on December 29, 2009 evened the series, Bloomsburg knocked off Goldey-Beacom, 60-48, in the last meeting between the two schools on December 1, 2013.

Adreana Sadowski (Fleetwood/Brandywine Heights) led the Huskies with 24 points on 10-of-15 shooting and also added ten rebounds in the victory. Catherine Noack was the only other Husky in double figures, finishing with 11.
Morgan Klunk (Felton/York Catholic) chipped in with six points, six rebounds, and five assists off the bench. After trailing by one at halftime, Bloomsburg held the Lightning to just 19 second-half points.
SCOUTING THE HUSKIES ...The Huskies opened the regular season with a 76-72 victory at New Haven to open the 2015-16 regular season.
Mia Hopkins (Pittston/Pittston Area), a junior transfer from Monmouth, started her Bloomsburg career with 24 points, 14 rebounds, and six assists in the win. Three other Husky players finished in double-figures:Â junior
Morgan Klunk (Felton/York Catholic) (18), redshirt senior
Adreana Sadowski (Fleetwood/Brandywine Heights) (12), and junior
Alex Ross (Lancaster/Manheim Township) (11). Ross' eleven points established a new career-high. Bloomsburg outrebounded Goldey-Beacom, 43-40, getting a game-high 14 boards from Hopkins, eight from Sadowski, and six from Klunk.
DON'T CALL IT A COMEBACK ...Bloomsburg earned a season-opening 76-72 victory at New Haven, the defending East Region Champions, on Friday night, November 13. The Huskies trailed, however, for a majority of the contest, falling behind by as many as 18 points with 9:01 left in the second quarter and still trailed by double digits with 2:38 left in the third quarter before mounting a comeback. The Huskies outscored the Chargers, 27-16, in the fourth quarter to come away with the win.
HOPKINS NAMED PSAC EAST PLAYER OF THE WEEK ...Junior
Mia Hopkins (Pittston/Pittston Area) (Pittston / Pittston Area), playing in her first career game at Bloomsburg, scored 24 points, grabbed 14 rebounds, and dished out six assists in Friday night's season-opening victory at New Haven to be named the PSAC East Player of the Week as announced by the conference office on Monday afternoon. Hopkins was 8-of-16 from the field and 8-of-8 at the free throw line in the four-point win over the Chargers.
HUSKIES NINTH IN ATLANTIC REGION ...Bloomsburg enters the contest ranked ninth in the Atlantic Region according to the latest Division II Sports Information Directors of America (D2SIDA) media poll released on Monday. The Huskies received nine votes in the regional poll. Bloomsburg is also receiving votes in the first installment of the D2SIDA Division II National media poll which was released last week. The Huskies received 25 votes in the first national poll of the season.
SCOUTING GOLDEY-BEACOM ...The Lightning enter the contest with an 0-2 record and have been outscored by an average of 25 points in their first two games. Goldey-Beacom, as a team, has shot just 36.1% from the floor, has attempted just nine free throws over two games (seven made), and has been outrebounded 99-63. Lexi Bruno leads the Lightning by averaging 15.5 points per game through the first two contests. She had 23 points in the season-opening loss against Stonehill. She also has posted 12 assists through the first two contests. Mikila Stefanski has been deadly from three-point range, knocking 8-of-15 three pointers over the first two contests (53.3%). She averages 14.0 points per game. Britani Bryson leads the Lightning in rebounds, averaging 6.0 per contest.
UPCOMING SCHEDULE ...The Huskies will open conference play on Saturday, November 21 and Sunday, November 22 when they head west to take on Seton Hill and defending National Champion, California (PA) respectively. Both tip-offs are scheduled for 1:00 p.m. both afternoons. Bloomsburg will play its first home game of the season on Sunday, November 29 when it entertains the University of the Sciences at Nelson Field House. Start time is slated for 1:00 p.m.
