StatsLAST TIME OUT> Bloomsburg set the modern era record for consecutive PSAC divisional victories with its 24th straight win over a PSAC East opponent, 62-40 vs. East Stroudsburg on Saturday.
>
Marla Simmons (Lebanon/Cedar Crest) scored a game-high 14 points along with 13 rebounds for her third double-double of the year.
>
Jocelyn Ford (Lansing, NY/Lansing) scored seven straight points during a stretch midway through the second half to halt an ESU rally. The senior finished with 12 points.
SCOUTING WCUWest Chester will try to keep its PSAC East title hopes alive with a win on Wednesday night, trailing the Huskies in the standings by three games with four to play. WCU was the favorite in the PSAC East Preseason Coaches poll after finishing 19-9 last year with a 12-3 mark in the PSAC East.
The Golden Rams have won back-to-back games over Lock Haven (68-55) and Shippensburg (69-64) at home after a disappointing 78-69 setback at Kutztown on Jan. 31. West Chester has been outstanding at home this year, going 11-1 at Hollinger Fieldhouse with the only loss coming to nationally ranked IUP, 76-54, on Jan. 4.
Junior guards Brittany Sicinski (14.1 ppg) and Dallas Ely (13.6 ppg) give the Golden Rams perhaps the most dynamic 1-2 scoring punch in the PSAC, with Ely averaging 16.5 points in the last four meetings with Bloomsburg. Not surprisingly, WCU ranks among the PSAC leaders in scoring, standing third in the conference at 73.8 points per game while also ranking eighth in scoring defense (62.6 ppg allowed). Where WCU has struggled a bit is at the line - though the Golden Rams have attempted the fourth-most free throws in the conference, they shoot just 67.7 percent at the stripe. Like Bloomsburg, WCU is also adept at forcing turnovers - opponents average nearly 20 per game (19.7).
West Chester is led by first-year head coach Kiera Wooden. Wooden is no stranger to the program - she spent the last 10 years as the top assistant for longtime coach Deirdre Kane who retired during the summer after posting 19 winning seasons in 26 years at WCU. A four-year player for the Rams, Wooden was All-PSAC East three times and ranks fifth in Rams career scoring with 1,378 points.
LAST MEETING / SERIES HISTORY
Bloomsburg leads 38-32Bloomsburg won the first meeting of the year at home, 76-65, on Jan. 10 behind a tremendous performance in the post from
Adreana Sadowski (Fleetwood/Brandywine Heights) who made 10-of-14 attempts from the field for a game-high 22 points.
Marla Simmons (Lebanon/Cedar Crest) added 16 points, eight rebounds and six assists without a single turnover. Dallas Ely powered WCU with 20 points and Brittany Sicinski had 18.
The Huskies and Golden Rams have a spirited history with one another, often with their meetings resulting in classic games. Bloomsburg has won four straight and nine of 13 games vs. West
Chester under head coach
Bill Cleary with eight of those games being decided by single digits.
The Huskies swept last year's season series with an 88-80 road win and a 66-58 victory at Nelson
Field House. In the last meeting at West Chester, the Rams led 63-53 with 9:28 to play before BU rallied behind 27 points from
Catherine Noack (Bethlehem/Liberty) as well as 17 points, including 14 in the second half from
Jocelyn Ford (Lansing, NY/Lansing) and a double-double effort of 14 points and 12 rebounds from
Adreana Sadowski (Fleetwood/Brandywine Heights). On that day, the Huskies posted 57 second half points.

NUMBERS TO KNOW> 1 - Adreana Sadowski (Fleetwood/Brandywine Heights) needs one more block to move into the top five all-time in BU history. She enters Wednesday's game with 108 career swats, with Lauren Ellis' 109 just ahead.
> 4 - Bloomsburg has won the PSAC East outright in each of the past four years. The only other time that has happened was by the 1988-91 Huskies teams. No other school has accomplished the feat. If the Huskies could win a fifth this season, it would set an all-time PSAC East record.
> 12 - The Huskies have won 12 straight games entering Wednesday. Bloomsburg has had a winning streak of at least nine games in the past five straight seasons - the Huskies also had 12-game winning streaks in the 2010-11 and 2011-12 seasons. Last year BU won 17 straight games.
> 19.8% - Senior
Marla Simmons (Lebanon/Cedar Crest) has assisted 19.8 percent of the Huskies baskets scored while she has been on the floor this year, highest on the team.
Taylor Maldonado (Stroudsburg/Allentown Central Catholic) (19.0%) and
Taylor Kaminski (Philadelphia/Archbishop Wood) (18.4%) are just behind.
> 20 - In 16 of 21 games this season, the Huskies have forced 20 or more turnovers by opponents.
> 24 - Bloomsburg has won 24 straight consecutive games over PSAC East opponents. That sets a new modern era conference record for consecutive divisional wins under the current alignment, surpassing the 23 straight wins scored by Edinboro against the PSAC West from 2011-2012. The previous best streak against the PSAC East in BU school history was a 21-game winning streak between 1989-91.
> 36 - The Huskies had 36 points in the paint in the first game against West Chester, third most by the team this season.
Adreana Sadowski (Fleetwood/Brandywine Heights)'s 22 points made up a lion's share of that total.
> 57.1 - The Huskies are tied with IUP in allowing the fewest points per game among PSAC teams this year - 57.1 ppg. Both teams have allowed 1,200 points in 21 games and both have 19-2 records.
> 200 - Huskies head coach
Bill Cleary earned his 200th career victory last Saturday with a win over East Stroudsburg.
ON THE WAY TO 20A win Wednesday would give the Huskies another 20-win season, what would be their fifth straight year of 20 or more wins. The Huskies only have one longer streak of 20-win seasons, reaching the milestone in six consecutive seasons between the 1987-88 and 1992-93 campaigns under head coach Joe Bressi.
HISTORY IN THE MAKING?Bloomsburg has the opportunity to secure at least a share PSAC East divisional title with a win at West Chester, entering Wednesday's game with a three-game lead in the East and five games to play - BU would secure the top seed in the PSAC Tournament with any tiebreakers with a season sweep of WCU. The Huskies are seeking their fifth straight outright PSAC East title, which would set an all-time record, though BU would need at least two more wins entering Wednesday to win the division outright. Currently, BU is tied with another set of Huskies teams - the 1988-91 squads - that won four straight outright East championships. No other school has accomplished the feat, and the division has never been won outright by the same team in five straight seasons.
REGIONAL RANKSWith less than a month left before the end of the regular season, every game becomes vital in the fight for a potential NCAA Tournament berth. While the official NCAA regional rankings will be released for the first time later this month, the Division II Sports Information Directors of America Atlantic Region Media Poll might be a hint of what to expect. In the latest rankings, California (PA) jumped from third to first with a 31-point win over former No. 1 IUP while Bloomsburg and undefeated Livingstone of the CIAA are tied for second. West Chester is in a tie for sixth.
