GREENSBURG, Pa. – Seton Hill opened strong and never trailed as the Bloomsburg University women's lacrosse team fell on the road Tuesday afternoon, 14-6, in a battle of nationally-ranked teams.

No. 15 Bloomsburg falls to 7-4, 6-2 PSAC while No. 17 Seton Hill improves to 9-4, 6-2.

The teams exchanged goals in the first four minutes with Seton Hill's Christine Palmeri scoring first 3:27 into the game off an assist from Emma Simmers. Bloomsburg responded a minute and a half later when
Taylor Turner (Corning, N.Y./Corning West) scored unassisted for the 1-1 tie.

The Griffins then scored three unanswered goals for a 4-1 advantage before
Julie Falk (Millersville/Penn Manor) found the net to cut Bloomsburg's deficit to two with 20:11 remaining in the opening period.

Marisa Moley (Phoenixville/Spring-Ford) and
Morgan Sherriff (Downingtown/Coatesville) each scored for the Huskies before halftime, but Seton Hill's tally from Tristen Hanke 2:46 before the intermission buzzer sent the Griffins to the break with an 8-4 advantage behind a 17-10 margin in shots.Â

The second half also began with the teams exchanging scoring plays with Seton Hill quickly notching a goal from Keagan Pontious just 37 seconds out of halftime. Turner got the Huskies back on the board less than three minutes later for a 9-5 score.
From there, however, the Griffins were in control. Seton Hill scored five of the game's final six goals with only a score from
Carly Ball (Lansdale/North Penn) breaking up the run by the hosts.
Seton Hill finished with a 39-20 edge in shots and 23-18 advantage in ground balls.
Abbey Burnett (Frederick, MD/Walkersville) was under attack in net, making a season-high 15 saves despite being tagged with the loss.
Turner's two goals led the Huskies while Moley fired off a team-high five shots.
Brigid Kyne (Newtown Square/Marple Newtown) picked up four ground balls and caused two turnovers while
Kate Shea (Mullica Hill, N.J./Clearview Regional) also caused two turnovers.
Emma Simmers scored three times to lead all players for Seton Hill with four other Griffins finding the net two times each. Meghan Hollar turned away 11 saves to earn the win in net.
Bloomsburg returns to action Friday at East Stroudsburg.
