BLOOMSBURG—Bloomsburg University honored its women's tennis senior class on Saturday then went out and beat Shippensburg University, 9-0, in a PSAC (Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference) Eastern Division matchup.

Prior to starting play Bloomsburg honored
Erin Reitenauer (Whitehall/Whitehall) and
Samantha Smith (Harrisburg/Central Dauphin) for their four years of play with the team.

When play began the Huskies swept doubles action with the
Aida Diop (Allentown/Emmaus) and
Caitlin Flynn (Cedar Grove, NJ/Cedar Grove) winning at No. 1, 8-2, while
Lindsey Tennis (Quakertown/Quakertown) and Illiana Anapolsky winning 8-2 at No. 3. At No. 2 Reitenauer and
Cat Garrity (Allentown, Pa./Emmaus) needed a tie-breaker, but prevailed 9-8.

In singles play the Huskies swept all six matches. Smith, playing at No. 6, won 6-3, 6-1, while Tennis rolled to a 6-0, 6-0 win at No. 4. The only match that wasn't won in straight sets was at No. 1 where Diop posted a 2-6, 6-2, 10-3 win.

Bloomsburg, 5-7, will host Millersville in a PSAC quarterfinal playoff match starting at 4 p.m. on Tuesday.
