BLOOMSBURG—The Bloomsburg University softball team ended its home regular season with a split of its doubleheader with Millersville on Friday afternoon. The Huskies won the opener 11-4, then, dropped the nightcap, 7-4.

In game one, Erica Keen (Gordonville/Bishop Shanahan) went 3-3 with three runs scored and three RBI, while Erika Yanora (Tunkhannock/Tunkhannock) went 3-4 with three runs scored to lead Bloomsburg to the win.

The Huskies took a 2-0 lead in the third inning with Keen getting a leadoff single and later coming in to score on a ground out by Emily Mayhew (Perkasie/Pennridge).  Valerie Carcasses (Barnegat, NJ/Barnegat) then doubled in Lea Rehm (Bloomsburg/Bloomsburg) to give Bloomsburg the early edge.

Millersville got one run back in the top of fourth inning on a solo homer. Bloomsburg then responded with two more runs to take a 4-1 lead.

Yanora doubled to start the inning and moved to third when Anna McElroy (Jessup/Valley View) reached on an error. Emily Mayhew (Perkasie/Pennridge) then reached on a error with Keen scoring for a 4-1 lead.

Millersville tied the game at 4-4 in the top of the fifth inning with Jordan Sheffield hitting an opposite field three-run homer.

In game two, Millersville led 3-0 going to the bottom of the fourth inning behind strong pitching from Brianna Andraos who held the Huskies to just three hits in that time.

In the bottom of the fourth the Huskies, though, struck for four runs. Peacock doubled to start the inning, while Mayhew walked. Peacock was out at third on a fielder's choice from Carcasses. After O'Connor walked to load the bases, Yanora reached on a fielder's choice with Mayhew beating the throw home. McElroy also plated a run on a fielder's choice with Taylor Parker (Dewart/Warrior Run) bringing home another run with a single. Then with the bases loaded Rehm reached on an error with McElroy scoring the go-ahead run.
