GAME TWO (HTML)EAST STROUDSBURG—The Bloomsburg University softball team dropped a pair of games to East Stroudsburg on Saturday losing by scores of 4-1 and 2-1.

In game one the Huskies managed just four hits in the contest, two by senior
Erika Yanora (Tunkhannock/Tunkhannock). After East Stroudsburg went up 1-0 in the first, the Huskies tied the game in the second. With two outs
Mallory Tomaschik (Catawissa/Southern Columbia) reached on an error, taking second base on the play. She came around to score on two consecutive passed balls to tie the game at 1-1.

The Warriors regained the lead with a single run in the third inning. In the top of the fourth inning the Huskies loaded the bases with no outs, but consecutive ground balls resulted in runners thrown out at the plate with a fly out ending the threat.

East Stroudsburg got two insurance runs in the bottom of the sixth inning with the Huskies going in order in the seventh to end the game.

Tomaschik suffered the loss striking out and not walking a batter.

In game two the Huskies fell behind 2-0 in the bottom of the first on a two-run double from Sierra Wagner.

The Huskies got one run back in the fifth inning when
Kayla McHale (Dillsburg/Northern) singled and moved to second on a sacrifice. After a pop out,
Kalynn Wheeland (South Williamsport/South Williamsport) delivered a pinch-hit double scoring McHale to make it 2-1.

Bloomsburg threatened in the top of the seventh when with one out McHale singled and
Taylor Parker (Dewart/Warrior Run) was hit by a pitch putting runners at first and second. But ESU pitcher Allison Mende worked out of the jam getting a fly out and fielder's choice to end the game.

Parker suffered the loss in the circle allowing two runs on six hits with four strikeouts and one walk.
Â
Bloomsburg, 23-13, 18-8 in the PSAC, will close out its regular season on Sunday at Mansfield starting at 1 p.m.
