Brett Milden (Mullica Hill, NJ/Clearview Regional) scored the gamewinning goal to lead the No. 18-ranked Bloomsburg University men's soccer team to a 2-1 win over Mercyhurst University on Saturday afternoon in Erie. It was the Huskies first-ever win over the Lakers in 13 career meetings.

Mercyhurst took the lead in the game in the 40
th minutes of action when RichardVanhorne's shot bounced off Bloomsburg goalie
Jared Ott (Philadelphia/Archbishop Ryan) with Michael Dirienzo hitting the follow-up to the right side of the net.

In the second half the Huskies tied the game when
Brian Kilcoyne (Bensalem/Bensalem)'s free kick was lofted over the defense with
Josh Smith (Mechanicsburg/Mechanicsburg) coming in with a lob shot over the keeper's head in the 57
th minute.

The Huskies took the lead for good in the 70
th minute. Bloomsburg broke up a corner kick, then transitioned the ball to offense with Kilcoyne pushing one through to a cutting Milden who beat the keeper to the left.

From there, the Huskies defense kept the Lakers off the board. Mercyhurst had one final push in the last 20 seconds, but Ott was able to make a save with 12 seconds to play to preserve the win.

Bloomsburg goes to 4-1, 2-1 in the PSAC, while Mercyhurst falls to 1-3, 1-1 in the PSAC. Bloomsburg hosts Lock Haven on Tuesday at 5 p.m.
