HTML BOX SCORE

BLOOMSBURG—The Bloomsburg University women's soccer team dropped its 2015 season opener on Thursday, 3-0, to West Chester University at Steph Pettit Stadium. The start of the game was delayed 90 minutes due to a thunderstorm which rolled through the area shortly before play was to start. The game was also the first for new Huskies head coach Matt Haney.

Play was back and forth in the early going with neither team getting a good look at the goal. Then in the 15th minute West Chester's Erica Hansen delivered a shot to the back left corner of the net to put the visitors up 1-0.

The score stayed 1-0 till the 44th minute of action when Tayler Jamison took a shot that was blocked by Huskies goalie Devon Haviland (Warminster/Archbishop Wood). West Chester's Kara Pavel then came in and drilled the rebound from the 18 yard line to make it 2-0 at the break.

In the second half the Golden Rams added an unassisted goal in the 65th minute by Haley Mangiarug.

Havliand stopped three shots in her first collegiate start for Bloomsburg, while West Chester's Alex Srolis earned the shutout with three saves.

Bloomsburg is 0-1 on the year, while West Chester goes to 1-0. The Huskies play at Millersville on Saturday at 2 p.m.
