BLOOMSBURG—The Bloomsburg University men's soccer team played to a 1-1, overtime tie with Slippery Rock on Saturday afternoon in a PSAC (Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference) matchup. The contest was halted with 3:24 left in the first overtime due to heavy rain.

The Huskies got on the board early in the match hitting the back of the net in the 18
th minute.
Anthony Cerda (Budd Lake, N.J./Mount Olive) pushed a ball up field to a streaking
Austin Transue (Langhorne, Pa./Neshaminy) who then beat the Rock goalie in a one-on-one showdown. For Transue it was his fourth goal of the season and 22
nd of the career putting him into a tie for ninth on the Huskies career goal scoring list.

Bloomsburg had four more shots on goal in the final 25 minutes of the first half, but the Slippery Rock goalie Jonathan Sharp came up with saves each time.

The second half was back and forth with the teams trading shots throughout the period. Bloomsburg goalie Jacob Pearcik made three second half saves to two for the Rock.

The Huskies appeared to be headed to a win, but in the 88
th minute of play, George Oakley got the ball to Kenton Kesslar off a scramble after a corner kick and scored to knot the game at 1-1.

In overtime each team had one shot before lightning and heavy rains forced the cancellation of the remainder of the game.

With the tie, Bloomsburg goes to 1-7-2, 0-5-2 in the PSAC, while Slippery Rock is 2-5-2, 1-2-2 in the PSAC. The Huskies play at New York Tech on Wednesday at 4 p.m.
