BLOOMSBURG—The Bloomsburg University women's soccer team lost to Slippery Rock, 2-1, on Saturday afternoon in a PSAC (Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference) matchup.

Slippery Rock struck first in the game getting a goal in the 21
st minute of play. The Rock's Lynn Neff crossed a ball from the right sideline to the center where Andrea Felix blasted a shot from 18-yards out to make it a 1-0 game.

The Huskies had four scoring chances in the final 25 minutes of the opening half, but shots by
Allie Barber (Pittston Township, Pa./Pittston Area),
Jessica Milligan (Perkasie, Pa./Pennridge) and
Jenna Fisher (Selinsgrove, Pa./Selinsgrove) were saved, while
Erin Bielski (Sykesville, Md./Century)'s shot was high.

Bloomsburg struck quickly to tie the game in the second half. On a sideline throw-in by
Allie Barber (Pittston Township, Pa./Pittston Area), Megan Caroll was able to get a shot off that went over the hands of the Slippery Rock goalie in the 47
th minute. For Carroll it was her first goal of the season.

The teams would trade shot attempts over the next 40 minutes and appeared headed to overtime. However, in the 88
th minute of play, Slippery Rock's Andrea Felix fed Dara Demich on a give-and-go from the left side with Demich getting off a shot that slipped past the Huskies goalie, Devin Haviland.

Bloomsburg held the edge in shots at 17-10 and in corner kicks 5-2. Haviland finished with two saves, while Rock goalie Kyle Downs stopped 10 shots.

The Huskies are now 4-4-2, 3-4-2 in the PSAC, while Slippery Rock is 6-4, 6-2 in the PSAC, Bloomsburg will visit Mansfield on Wednesday at 7 p.m.
