BLOOMSBURG—The Bloomsburg University men's soccer team fell to Holy Family University, 5-3, on Wednesday night in a non-conference matchup.

Bloomsburg controlled pace of play in opening minutes not allowing the ball past midfield.
Austin Transue (Langhorne, Pa./Neshaminy), the Huskies leading scorer, had the first shot of the game four minutes into play that went wide, then a minute had a second shot stopped by Tigers' goalie Mark Puhl. In the ninth minute the Huskies'
Brian Kilcoyne (Bensalem, Pa./Bensalem) pushed up from his defender spot to take a shot that was also stopped by Puhl.

The Huskies took the lead in the 24th minute of play. After the Bloomsburg defense turned play around and pushed the action up field, Transue got the ball at midfield and dribbled quickly. Spotting a streaking
Anthony Cerda (Budd Lake, N.J./Mount Olive), Transue fed the ball to Cerda on the right side who drilled home an easy goal to the left corner.

Holy Family tied the score in the 32nd minute off a corner kick. Justin Hiltwine delivered a nice ball that Christopher Tracey was able to head past Bloomsburg goalie
Taylor Lesage (Collegeville, Pa./Methacton).

It didn't take long for Bloomsburg to regain the lead getting the go-ahead goal just three-and-a-half minutes later.
Tyler Madeira (Schnecksville, Pa./Parkland) fed a ball from the left side of the box to
Brett Milden (Mullica Hill, N.J./Clearview Regional) on the right who had his shot bounce off a Holy Family defender into the goal in the 35th minute.

Bloomsburg made it 3-1 in the 42nd minute when
Austin Transue (Langhorne, Pa./Neshaminy) got a pass near midfield and dribbled down the left side. Stopping inside the box, he maneuvered the ball around a defender and drilled a shot to the left corner of the goal.

The three goals scored by the Huskies in the opening 45 minutes was the first time since the 2015 season-opening game on Sept. 3 that they had scored that many in the opening half.

Holy Family narrowed the gap with a goal in the 56 minute of play. With the ball in the box, the ball bounced around and out to the Tigers' Jovan James who drilled a hard shot to the right side of the net.

The Tigers tied the score in the 73rd minute. After a foul in the box gave Holy Family a penalty kick, Justin Hiltwine converted the attempt making it 3-3.

Holy family took the lead in the 87th minute when a shot by Connor Stackhouse deflected off a Bloomsburg defender with Dan Trodden coming in from the left side to punch in the ball home for a 4-3 lead. The Tigers closed out the scoring with eight seconds to play when James fed Stackhouse who squibbed one past Lesage.

Bloomsburg falls to 1-10-2 with the loss, while Holy Family goes to 2-9-3. The Huskies play at Pitt-Johnstown on Saturday at 3:30 p.m.
