WEST CHESTER—The seventh-ranked Bloomsburg University field hockey team fell to West Chester University, 2-1, on Saturday afternoon in a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) game.

West Chester struck first in the game scoring in the 20
th minute when Rachel Toppi knocked in a rebound of a shot by Marnie Kusakavitch making it 1-0.

Just over a minute later Toppi struck again when she scored off another rebound of a missed shot putting the home team on top, 2-0.

Bloomsburg cut the lead in half just over two minutes later when
Sam Peters (Harrisburg, Pa./Mifflin County) scored off an assist by
MacKenna Mahan (Selinsgrove, Pa./Selinsgrove). For Peters it was her team-high eighth goal of the season, while Mahan now has three assists.

In the second half the teams were scoreless with the Golden Rams holding an 11-3 edge in shots in the final 35 minutes and a 5-1 advantage in penalty corners.

Bloomsburg goalie
Lindsay Cassel (Hummelstown, Pa./Lower Dauphin) made a season-high 14 saves in the game.

The Huskies go to 10-4, 4-2 in the PSAC, while West Chester is now 7-6, 4-2 in the PSAC. Bloomsburg plays at Millersville on Tuesday at 4 p.m.
