MILLERSVILLE—In a battle of top ten teams and a game that could play a big role in seeding for the post-season, fourth-ranked Millersville University scored a 2-1, double overtime win over sixth-ranked Bloomsburg University in PSAC field hockey action on Tuesday.

Bloomsburg opened the scoring in the 22
nd minute when senior
Sam Peters (Harrisburg, Pa./Mifflin County) scored an unassisted goal to make it 1-0. For Peters it was her team-high ninth goal of the year. It was also the third straight game and fourth in the last five that she has scored a goal.

It stayed 1-0 into the second half when the Marauders tied the score. Millersville's Margaret Thorwart sent a shot into the circle that was deflected by Tay Parker in the 54
th minute.

In first extra session the Huskies
Erica Krebs (Bloomsburg, Pa./Central Columbia) had two shots on goal, but Millersville's goalie made back-to-back saves to keep it 1-1. Then in the 91
st minute the Marauders Olivia Hershey split two defenders and hit a backhanded game winning shot.

The teams were even in shots at 14 each, while Millersville held a 12-6 edge in penalty corners.

With the loss Bloomsburg falls to 10-5, 4-3 in the PSAC, while Millersville goes to 12-3, 5-2 in the PSAC. The Huskies will host IUP on Saturday at 11 am in a Parents' Day matchup. The game will be aired live on WYOU-TV (22) in Wilkes-Barre/Scranton.
