JOHNSTOWN—The Bloomsburg University women's soccer team kept is bid for a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) playoff berth alive with a 2-0 win over Pitt-Johnstown (UPJ) on Saturday.

The Huskies sit in ninth place in the PSAC play with the top eight teams earning a playoff spot. Two of Bloomsburg's final three games are against teams that are ahead of them in the standings.

In the win over the Mountain Cats, the Huskies got two first half goals and then played solid defense. Bloomsburg took the lead in the game in the 16
th minute of action when
Jessica Milligan (Perkasie, Pa./Pennridge) fed a crossing pass to
Maureen Leis (Erdenheim, Pa./Springfield Township) who drilled it past UPJ's Leigh Appolonia.

Bloomsburg made it 2-0 when
Allie Camp (Beavertown, Pa./Midd-West) took the initial shot that bounced off Appolonia.
Jessica Supp (Perkasie, Pa./Pennridge) was there to take the rebound and score.

From there the Huskies defense did the rest limiting UPJ to just six total shots for the game, just one on goal. That one shot was saved by Huskies goalie
Devon Haviland (Warminster, Pa./Archbishop Wood). Bloomsburg also held a 9-2 edge in corner kicks.

Bloomsburg is now 6-6-2, 5-6-2 in the PSAC, while Pitt-Johnstown is now 0-14, 0-13-0 in the PSAC. The Huskies host East Stroudsburg on Wednesday at 7:30 p.m.
