STORYLINE
Bloomsburg will look to make it two straight victories on Wednesday evening when it hosts East Stroudsburg University. The Huskies are coming off of a 3-1 victory at Pitt-Johnstown on Saturday afternoon which snapped a 12-match winless streak. Meanwhile, the Warriors are holding down the sixth and final playoff spot in the PSAC with two weeks left in the regular season.
ALL-TIME SERIES
This will mark the 51st meeting between the two schools with East Stroudsburg maintaining a stranglehold on the all-time series as it leads the Huskies, 35-13-2.
LAST MEETING
The teams last met on October 21, 2015 with the Warriors earning a 3-1 victory in East Stroudsburg. After the Warriors scored first,
Austin Transue (Langhorne, Pa./Neshaminy) tied the match at 1-1 with a goal just 69 seconds into the second half. However, goals by Casey Choffy and Andrew McGinley less than three minutes apart gave the Warriors the two-goal win.
Jared Ott (Philadelphia, Pa./Archbishop Ryan) stopped two shots in goal for the Huskies while Will Boerema posted five saves for the Warriors.
LAST TIME OUT
Bloomsburg snapped a 12-match winless streak with a 3-1 victory at Pitt-Johnstown on Saturday afternoon. The Mountain Cats scored just 3:44 into the contest but goals by
Hamilton Rodkey (Verona, Pa./Penn Hills) and
Anthony Cerda (Budd Lake, N.J./Mount Olive) closed out the first half with the Huskies ahead, 2-1.
Mike Bazadona (Courtdale, Pa./Wyoming Valley West) added a goal late in the second half to preserve the victory.
Jacob Pesarcik (Whitehall, Pa./Whitehall) got the win in goal after stopping four shots.
The Warriors are coming off of an identical 3-1 victory over Seton Hill on Saturday afternoon. Like Bloomsburg's win, East Stroudsburg scored three unanswered goals after falling behind 1-0 early. Christian Bukowski scored twice while Irvin Zuzic added the other tally. Will Boerema stopped three shots for the win.
SCOUTING BLOOMSBURG
The Huskies are coming off of a 3-1 win at Pitt-Johnstown on Saturday afternoon - the team's first victory since a 1-0 season-opening victory over Felician on September 1. Bloomsburg has scored three goals in back-to-back contests and is now averaging just over a goal per game (1.071) which is 11th in the PSAC. The Huskies allow 2.21 goals per game - also 11th in the league.
Austin Transue (Langhorne, Pa./Neshaminy) leads the Huskies in socring this season with five goals and two assists for twelve points. Transue has climbed into a tie for eighth place on the school's all-time list with 23 career goals and his 54 career points ranks tied for ninth in program history.
Anthony Cerda (Budd Lake, N.J./Mount Olive) is second on the team with two goals and two assists for six points.
Mike Bazadona (Courtdale, Pa./Wyoming Valley West) has also scored two goals while adding one helper on the season.
Jacob Pesarcik (Whitehall, Pa./Whitehall) has seen most of the time in goal and is 2-7-2 with a 1.77 goals against average and a .773 save percentage.
SCOUTING EAST STROUDSBURG
The Warriors are 6-6-1 overall and 4-4-1 in PSAC action which puts them in the sixth and final playoff spot in the league with two weeks remaining. East Stroudsburg is fifth in the PSAC in scoring offense (2.083) and seventh in scoring defense (1.58). Christian Bukowski leads the team in scoring with eight goals and four assists for 20 points. He is tied for fourth in the PSAC in goals and is fifth in points. Brandon Levano and Irvin Zuzic have scored five goals apiece and total 13 and 12 points respectively. Will Boerema has played every minute in goal and is 6-6-1 with a 1.59 goals against average and a .667 save percentage.
